I recently shared a poll in my profile asking: Do you think spending time in nature or focusing on spiritual well-being can boost your work performance? The poll offered four possible responses:
Yes, it boosts my performance
It helps me occasionally
I haven't noticed a difference
No, it doesn't affect me
The results showed an overwhelming 72% of respondents feel that spending time in nature or engaging in spiritual well-being activities boosts their work performance. Another 24% said it helps them occasionally, 4% haven’t noticed a difference, and 0% reported no effect at all.
This indicates that most people experience better performance after time spent in nature or spiritual practices. Research supports these findings, demonstrating that time in nature can positively influence mood and enhance productivity.
Perhaps, then, companies should prioritize the physical and mental well-being of employees to foster higher productivity. Group activities in nature, for instance, could strengthen both intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships within a team.
